LEXAN CLINIWALL Plus Sheet
Designers and maintenance managers in hospitals and public facilities are seeking new ways to enhance public safety.
This is because of evolving fire safety regulations for building materials and the growing need to comply with sanitation standards. SABIC is helping customers meet these challenges by introducing a new LEXAN™ CLINIWALL™ Plus Sheet solution.
The new sheet solution is made of polycarbonate and is PVC-free, which increases the safety level. This opaque, non-chlorinated, and non-brominated sheet portfolio delivers high-strength stain resistance to blood, iodine, rubber gasket marks, and other common stains in hospitals and public facilities. These LEXAN CLINIWALL PLus Sheets also offers excellent chemical resistance to most cleaning agents, including disinfectant Isopropanol (rubbing alcohol), helping save significant maintenance costs.
SABIC Functional Forms recently achieved significant recognition for its LEXAN CLINIWALL Plus Sheet. The company has been honored with a GOLD medal by Friendly Materials©, inspired by PMMT, and also received the Sustainability and Gold Nightingale awards at the HCD 2023 show in the USA. These prestigious accolades highlight the exceptional quality and sustainability of the LEXAN CLINIWALL Plus Sheets.
Potential Applications for FOR LEXAN™ CLINIWALL™ PLus Sheet
LEXAN CLINIWALL sheets are ideally suited for a diverse range of applications, offering exceptional benefits for various environments. In healthcare facilities, such as hospitals, clinics, homes for the elderly, sterile rooms, and laboratories, these sheets are serving as a robust and hygienic interior wall cladding option. They are also highly effective in industrial settings, including clean rooms, kitchens, refrigeration, and storage areas, where cleanliness and durability are paramount.
Furthermore, LEXAN CLINIWALL sheets are perfect for public facilities like schools, kindergartens, restrooms, airports, bus stops, train stations, and sports centres. They provide a practical solution in environments where reducing the potential transference of pathogens is essential, ensuring a safer and more hygienic space for everyone.
LEXAN CLINIWALL Use in Interior Wall Cladding Applications
LEXAN™ CLINIWALL™ Sheet is an excellent new thermoplastics material solution for use in interior wall applications for clean room surfaces and interior wall cladding applications in public facilities and hospitals. LEXAN CLINIWALL Plus Sheet delivers high-strength stain resistance to blood and other common stains in hospitals and public facilities. This opaque, low-gloss PC/ABS blend solid sheet delivers high impact and wear resistance, and it can help provide long awaited solutions to customer’s needs for materials that can meet European fire regulation for building materials and their sanitation requirements while helping to save significant maintenance costs, resulting in reduced operation costs. LEXAN CLINIWALL sheet complies with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive due to its non-chlorinated and non-brominated flame retardant technology and it meets the current European EN 13501-1 regulation requirements of the most stringent fire and smoke standards, obtaining the best rating for a thermoplastic material.
Compared to high-pressure laminates, ceramics and steel, LEXAN CLINIWALL sheet can significantly lower system costs
through consolidation of parts to streamline production, and avoidance of secondary operations such as painting and
coating, machining and polishing, and lower shipping costs due to its light weight.
Pre-colored LEXAN CLINIWALL sheet can provide an excellent surface finish for the wall cladding, eliminating the need for painting. Its characteristics also help prevent chipping of the surface if impact occurs.
